Beginning January 1, 2012, your trash collection
day will be
TUESDAY.
Please have your trash and recyclables at the
curb by 6am on your day of collection.
Republic Services will begin servicing your
recently-delivered, 95-gallon, brown Republic
cart beginning January 3rd.
Reminder: You don’t need to call our
offices to sign up for service. However,
our Customer Service Department can be reached
at
800-247-3644 to answer any questions
that you may have.
Our office hours are 7am-5pm.

Mayor Reggie McGee and Village Council have
secured
pricing for you for 3 years.
Rates: January 1, 2012 through December
31, 2014 will be $31.17 per quarter for all
residents. Senior Citizen (ages 65 and
older) rates are $27.75 per quarter.

Streets & Water
Village Administrator, John Shirley oversees the day-to-day activities of the
Service Department. Mr. Shirley can be contacted at 330-488-0360.
The
Service Department has two full-time employees and five part-time employees.
Their vehicle fleet includes one water department service truck, three dump
trucks with snow plows and a bucket truck. They maintain 11 miles of roads
in the village limits including paving, repairs and snow plowing.
Village Services also include maintenance of all
signs, signals, storm sewers, fire hydrants, Village owned buildings, and public
owned lands and trees.
The Village of East Canton purchases water from the
City of Canton. The Village has a pump house and two water storage towers.
Village employees read meters at 742 homes and businesses every other month.
Water bills are prepared by the Service Department Clerk and are mailed every 2
months. Bills should arrive the 1st of Jan., March, May, July,
Sept. & Nov. and are due the 25th of said month. If you do not
receive your bill on time, please call Village Hall at 330-488-0220. Late
payments are subject to a 15% late fee.
RECYCLING
Bins for recycling of newspaper, cardboard, plastic, glass
and cans are available at the rear of the Osnaburg Twp. Fire Station, 110 W.
Church Street in East Canton. This recycling location is open daily from
dawn to dusk. (Note: 136.73 tons were collected in 2010 –
thank you for recycling.)
